Safety Net Activities Project

Thinking of volunteering? Interested in working with children? Looking to gain valuable work experience?

At Safety Net, we are looking for volunteers aged 16+ to help with our Children in Need funded activities project.

If you are accepted into volunteering with us, you’ll get stuck into an exciting range of activities such as exotic animal visits, sports, arts workshops, and cooking with children aged 8-13. You’ll also have FREE training opportunities.

If you become a volunteer, travel costs are reimbursed and Safety Net will pay for a DBS check.

Email or call us to get in contact.

Getting there / Access

We work in many venues across Brighton and Hove and can therefore not guarantee that wheelchair access is always available.

Activities generally have good public transport links for volunteers to get to.
Our main office is based in Portslade.
Volunteers will be under the guidance of our Activities and volunteer coordinator, Ruth Davey.

When & Where

Volunteering with us is very flexible: if accepted, the volunteer coordinator will ask for your general availability (able to do sessions after school and/or in the school holidays and/or at weekends). From there, the coordinator will invite you to specific activities which you can choose to partake in. You will also be asked to partake in Safeguarding training, which will be paid for by Safety Net.

Potential volunteers will be asked to fill out an application form and have an informal chat with the volunteer coordinator. Potential volunteers will then need to have a DBS check which will be arranged and paid for by Safety Net.
